Harmony Week 2025 – Everyone Belongs at PPN
What an amazing week we had celebrating Harmony Week 2025 with the theme "Everyone Belongs!" Each day was packed with exciting activities that helped us learn about different cultures while having loads of fun!
Monday – Mrs. Pridmore and Mrs. A got us moving with the Greek Zorba dance, and we all had a blast trying out the steps!
Tuesday – Things got a little messy (but super fun!) as we made orange cloud slime with the legendary Mrs. Wood, since orange is the colour of Harmony Week!
Wednesday – Mrs. Buys took us on a cultural journey with Wakka Wakka South African movement to music, and we danced our hearts out!
Thursday – Our amazing students proudly shared their Samoan culture, with family members coming along to support them. We learned about traditional tattoos and were treated to a special Samoan performance—it was incredible! Plus, thanks to Mrs. Isaac and her team (including our wonderful Year 6 helpers), we got to enjoy delicious orange snow cones that day too!
Friday – A group of our teachers wowed us with Filipino dance moves, and in the dark, they used lanterns that looked like fireflies—it was magical! Everyone dressed in orange or traditional clothing, making our school an explosion of vibrant colours, just like the rainbow God created for us to enjoy!
To top it all off, our library looked incredible, decorated with beautiful artwork from every student, showing us their understanding of what Harmony Week means.
What a week! We celebrated, we learned, we moved to music, and most importantly, we showed that EVERYONE BELONGS!
Snow Cones raise $1100
A big thank you to our families for supporting our Prescott Community Snow Cone Fundraiser as part of Harmony Week. Together we raised about $1100 to go towards our new playground!

STEM Squad Testing Flies High
Over the last three weeks our STEM Squad have been learning and testing the aerodynamic considerations of flying paper planes. Last week they test completed final tests and had a lot of fun.
STEM Squad is an open opportunity for students in Year 5 and 6 interested in STEM. Keep an eye out for STEM Squad activities in Term 2!
Yesterday our upper school students had their sports day. It was a well-planned event, thanks to Miss Pfieffer; a buzzing environment of enthusiastic kids, fantastic staff and helpers and students’ families who had come along to support. Everyone did their best to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Being my first sports day at the school, it was lovely to hear the students chanting “PPN! PPN! PPN!” as they waited to start the events. My interpretation of that was that even though they were in teams and had their team colour ribbons, the students saw themselves as one—PPN. That in itself is a very heart-warming feeling about our school.
In true accordance with the Message Bible translation of Hebrews 12:1 “better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit”, the students all put in their best at everything they did—all with great cheer. For the most part, they kept to the rules though some of them did not keep to their lanes in the races which is understandable given that would have been their first experience on a marked racetrack.
I am left questioning, in the race through life how do you fare in competing according to the rules? Whose rule book do you play by? I am hoping, by God’s grace, you are able to lay aside every weight and intentionally run with fortitude the race before us.
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Yesterday, our school came alive with the cheers, laughter, and excitement of Sports Day! The sun shone brightly as students from grades 3 to 6 raced, jumped, and threw their hearts into every event. Whether it was the thrilling long and high jump events, the nail-biting relay, or the high-energy tug-of-war, one thing stood out: our children gave it their very best. And in doing so, they reminded us of a beautiful Christian truth, when we put our whole selves into what we do, we honour God.
Take, for example, a student who’ll remain nameless from year 3. During the 3 legged race she tripped over a cone and fell flat on her face. The class gasped, but she didn’t stay down. With grass stained knees and a determined grin, her 3 legged partner helped her back up and they finished the course, and crossed the finish line, their house team cheering them on. Later I asked her “what made you get back up? She said, “I wanted to finish what I started, for me and my team.” Her words echo the Bible’s call in Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.”
Sports Day wasn’t just about winning ribbons (though we’re proud of all our champions!). It was about effort, teamwork, and perseverance. The very values Jesus Himself taught us. When He walked the earth, He gave His all, whether healing the sick, feeding the hungry, or loving those who felt unlovable. He didn’t give up, even when the road was tough. Our students reflected that same spirit as they cheered each other on, helped a struggling friend across the finish line, and shook hands with their opponents after every match.
As we celebrate this fantastic day, let’s remember that giving our best isn’t just for Sports Day, it’s a way to live every day. Whether we’re studying, playing, or helping at home, we can do it all with love and dedication, trusting that God sees our efforts and smiles. So, here’s to our students, who showed us that with a little grit, a lot of heart, and faith in God, we can all run the race of life well!
God Bless!
