Principal's Remarks
Yesterday our upper school students had their sports day. It was a well-planned event, thanks to Miss Pfieffer; a buzzing environment of enthusiastic kids, fantastic staff and helpers and students’ families who had come along to support. Everyone did their best to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Being my first sports day at the school, it was lovely to hear the students chanting “PPN! PPN! PPN!” as they waited to start the events. My interpretation of that was that even though they were in teams and had their team colour ribbons, the students saw themselves as one—PPN. That in itself is a very heart-warming feeling about our school.
In true accordance with the Message Bible translation of Hebrews 12:1 “better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit”, the students all put in their best at everything they did—all with great cheer. For the most part, they kept to the rules though some of them did not keep to their lanes in the races which is understandable given that would have been their first experience on a marked racetrack.
I am left questioning, in the race through life how do you fare in competing according to the rules? Whose rule book do you play by? I am hoping, by God’s grace, you are able to lay aside every weight and intentionally run with fortitude the race before us.
