Nature Play Art
A simple activity like this can easily be done at home without even leaving your house. Collecting leaves and flowers, and a piece of scrap paper and cardboard, you can create some beautiful art with your family two. What kind of art can you and your family make this week?

"Community is about doing something together that makes belonging matter."
Brian Solis
I am not sure about you, but I am so grateful to belong to this vibrant community, Prescott Primary Northern. As I walk the hallways, interact with students and staff, help our families through the Drop Off Zone in the mornings, sit and work through some behaviour choices with students, hear stories of both struggles and joys from our families, I am reminded daily that this community is incredibly important…this community matters.
Last Friday, our school community celebrated the end of PE Week with our annual Fun Run. I would like to thank Mr Campbell, Sonja Liemar, Kate Truscott and their team of volunteers who made this memorable event happen. There was a buzz of excitement and energy in the air as classes paraded their costumes to one another, ran laps of the course and cheered on buddy classes. It was so wonderful to see families that had come along to celebrate and cheer on their children. The sense of joy felt by our wider community during this event only highlighted even further how incredible this community is and how grateful I am to be a part of it.
2022 has been a tough year on many fronts, but in particular around some Covid restrictions not allowing families on campus for a significant part of this year. To be able to hold an event like Fun Run, with our parents and carers being able to join us, was such a blessing. So thank you to those families that came and celebrated with us! We are looking forward to being able to hold more events that invite our school community along this year and into a new year. Enjoy this little insight to some of the highlights and joy from our Fun Run…it will surely bring a smile to your face:
As we look ahead to the last few weeks of our school year, I would like to encourage you to engage with our community. Find ways to encourage and uplift one another during this busy season, and know that you belong in our community. You belong and you matter! Let me leave you with these encouraging words from the Bible, found in Hebrews 10:24, as you go about the weeks ahead: "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works."
Blessings,
Tamara

The best apps for kids
There’s no avoiding screentime, but there are ways to make it productive, fun and family-building. This is particularly important as the holidays approach and our kids have more spare time on their hands.
It’s easy to fall into the ‘these apps are bad’ trap, so below are a list of a few apps your kids will love, and you’ll love too. These have been split up for younger and older kids.

Volunteer with the CEC in 2023
Events like the Fun Run, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls don’t happen without the amazing work of our CEC – and they need your help!
The CEC stands for cCmmunity Events Committee and it is run by volunteers from within the school community. Our committee raises money for various school projects, whilst providing the students with activities and events that are fun and enjoyable. This year we held our annual Mother's day and Father's day stalls along with the Fun-Run. Pre-Covid, the CEC organised quiz nights, treat days, Carols by Candlelight, end of year concerts and many more exciting events.
It is very rewarding being part of the CEC. The opportunity to be involved in the school and to interact with the students on a different level is very special. We are always on the hunt for more volunteers, if you would like to be involved or want more information, please fill in the form below or contact the office and one of the CEC members will be in touch with you.
