School Choir Sings at Prescott College Fete
Last Sunday, November 10th, the School choir sang at the Prescott College Fete. They sang a couple of songs from the musical that they had performed throughout the year and also several Christmas carols. The children’s bright, festive T-shirts matched the atmosphere at the Fete and we received various positive comments about the performance. A big thank you to all the choir members that made the effort to attend. We hope you enjoyed all of the special activities and yummy food that was available. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Year 1 Excursion – Thorndon Park Reserve
Last Friday finally arrived, and the Year 1 students bravely took the opportunity to consolidate their Term 4 HASS (Geography) studies on ‘Features of Place’ (Natural, Constructed, and Managed). What an adventure! All the children had waited excitedly to visit Thorndon Park Reserve, even the inclement weather was unable to deter the Year 1’s.
Thorndon Park Reserve, previously known as the site of Thorndon Park Reservoir, was completed in 1862 to supply water for Adelaide. Since 2002, the Thorndon Park Reserve has been nicely redeveloped with picnic areas, playgrounds, BBQ’s and walking trails.
We are grateful to God in the first instance, to our dedicated and generous Parents/Guardians, Volunteers, School Drivers, and to everyone who made this excursion a special one.

North Wing Update

I have been reminded again this week how much just a little thank you can mean. Last week I wrote about the big difference little things can make and I just want to remind you how true that is when it comes to saying thank you. It doesn’t take much, but the difference it makes for the person receiving the thanks is often huge. I think the reason for this is the message we are sending the person is significant – “You and what you’ve done are really important to me.”
Here are some things I found that we can tell others we are thankful for,” Thank you for your love. Thank you for saying yes. Thank you for saying no (when we needed to hear it). Thank you for your creative touch, it adds more beauty to the world. Thank you for making all that great food and green juice! Thank you for getting people where they need to go. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Thank you for taking responsibility. Thank you for your infectious laughter. Thank you for mowing the lawn and taking the garbage out. Thank you for knowing how to fix things and for being so handy. Thank you for pushing yourself and others to grow. Thank you for being so open and non-judgemental. It makes people feel safe. Thank you for listening with your whole being. Thank you for your hard work and focus, it really makes a difference. Thank you for your willingness to put yourself out there. Thank you for being brave and courageous. Thank you for being willing to fail and ready to leap. Thank you for your passion and dedication. Thank you for caring about the world around you. Thank you for being vulnerable, we know it’s not easy. Thank you for facing your challenging times with grace. Thank you for being so incredibly compassionate. Thank you for being YOU.” (Carr, 2015)
Here’s my challenge to you. Grab your phone right now and SMS a thank you to someone.
Paul writes specifically in Colossians 3:15 asking us to be thankful. So I would like to say a big thank you to all our students, families and staff for how we went yesterday in our first day without our back car park and using our new drive through. THANK YOU for your patience and understanding, and being willing to walk a little extra, or do something new and different.
Thank you!
Have a great week with your kids,
