Swimsafe Week
PPN SWIMMING Program: Year 1-6
Term 1 Week 2, 2021
Waterworld Swimming Centre
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Year 1 – 6 will participate in Swim Safe Week next week. Our Foundation Classes will not participate in this program until the end of Term 3. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, parents are not to attend and observe lessons during Swim Safe Week. Students will be returning to school to get changed back into their uniform after lessons. Students are permitted to wear thongs/sandals to and from the swimming centre, however proper footwear is required at all other times. Please check the list below to ensure your child/children have the items they need for swimming. Thank you for your assistance in making this week run smoothly.
All children must have:-
- Plastic bags to keep clothes in
- Sunscreen (Teachers will also have a supply)
- Swimmers
- Goggles
- Towel x 2
- A T-Shirt or rashy must be worn whilst swimming all week (Sun Safe Requirement)
- All clothes clearly named
Cost: Included in school fee invoice.
If not already returned, swimming forms must be in by Thursday, 28th January.
Non-swimmers: If your child cannot participate in swimming we will need a note. All non-swimmers will have to travel to the pool and do class work while swimming is in progress.
Photography and recording are not permitted at the swimming centre. Swimming staff will reinforce this no-photo policy. PPN Staff have specific permission to photograph our students for school purposes only.
Please Note: No food may be purchased for any children at the swimming pool

PE Specialist Classes & Uniform
This year, our students will be participating in a specialist PE lesson each week with Miss Thomas. Students will wear their sports uniform on the day they have these lessons. All other fitness lessons and activities will be led by the classroom teachers.
Please take note of the days each class will need to wear their sports uniform for 2021:
Basketball for 2021
Last year we opened a link to sign up and an email was sent early this year about sign ups for basketball. Unfortunately, the huge amount of students that signed up compared to the coaches that we had available, forced us to suspend the sign ups and we have been unable to find more coaches. If you were successful in signing up, you would have received an email from us already. I am sorry if you were unable to get in. Please contact Mr Davis and you can be put on a waiting list, or, volunteer to coach a team! We need the help. Thank you for understanding.
