Principal's Remarks
The 2020 School Year has now come and gone. It has certainly been a memorable one. Around this time of year, I spend some time reflecting on the Christmas Story. The story of Jesus’ birth is one which has long fascinated me. The whole idea that the God of the universe would take the form of a human being to show just what God’s love and grace are all about, challenges my thinking. But there is more. It also challenges how I live my life and how I view my fellow human beings. If the God of the universe would do that for me, I can’t help but try to pass that along to my fellow human beings.
I have been on the receiving end of much of the love and care I referred to just now, from our school community this year. I hope that you have experienced that at Prescott Primary Northern this year also. I would like to challenge our graduating Year 6 students to take the approach of giving to others as well, and go on to even greater things. We are so proud of our Year 6 class, and we pray God’s blessing and protection on them as they leave us.
I cannot end this year without saying a big thank you to all of the staff at Prescott Primary Northern. The flexibility and willingness to help and pick up on what needed to be done, has been inspirational. From bus drivers picking up in the morning, the front office staff taking things to classrooms and following up requests, teachers preparing for all different scenarios, chaplains contacting families, SSOs getting extra resources together, IT staff sorting out online learning challenges, canteen and student services staff going the extra mile, volunteers, grounds and maintenance staff and School Council, to our amazing Deputy Principals, my most heartfelt thanks goes to you all.
I must also thank our students and families. Much has been fired at you with changes to the school program this year, and I want to thank you for support, kindness and understanding. It has reminded me again how blessed I am to be a part of the Prescott Primary Northern family.
I would like to wish you all a most blessed Christmas and my hope is that the Love and Grace of God we see in the Christmas story, will be real for you every day.
Have a great holiday break with your kids,
Mark Borresen
Isaiah 9: 6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.”
