Preservice Teachers at PPN

We would like to welcome some Preservice Teachers to our school community. Ms Belinda Toohey is working alongside Mrs Bell in Year 1C. Ms Georgina Boucher is working with Mr Matt in Foundation A and Ms Yasmin Cook is working alongside Mrs Pridmore in Year 2C. We would like to wish these ladies a wonderful learning experience at our school as they complete their school placements over the next few weeks at PPN.

Term 3 Updated Procedures

We are able to lift some restrictions we have had in place last term. Please take note of these updated procedures.

The new restrictions are as follows-

Morning drop off and afternoon pick up procedure-

- Parents/caregivers ARE allowed on school campus (external access only - see restrictions below) and can access our campus via the Front Office and Back Gate.
- Parents/caregivers are able to drop and collect students at the door of their classroom but are NOT permitted inside (unless you have requested permission from Administration and complete a "COVID form" each time you enter the classroom). We are hopeful this restriction will ease later in the term.
- Parents/caregivers must not congregate on the school grounds or directly outside the front or back gates - please practice social distancing and keep clear of main thoroughfares.
- The following areas inside will NOT be accessible to parents/caregivers - main doors for Year 1A, 1B, Foundation A and Foundation B. Year 2C parents/caregivers must wait outside the Library entrance.

The Drive Through Zone and Back Gate and carpark will be used. Please do not park across the entrance to the car park if lining up for pick up.

The classrooms will have the following external access points-

Students who are not collected from their classroom in the afternoon, will be taken to the Pick Up Zone by 3:20pm. Parents are encouraged to use the Drive Through to collect their children (please have student name displayed in your car). Alternatively, parents can park in the back car park and access the school grounds by the back gate and walk through the basketball court to the Pick Up Zone to collect their child/ren.

We would like to thank our school families for your patience and flexibility as we continue to put in practices to keep our school community safe, as we follow guidelines and restrictions put in place by AISSA and SA Health. We will continue to keep our school community informed as these restrictions and guidelines are updated.

We are looking forward to a wonderful term together.

Uniform Policy

This is a whole school reminder to remind you of the expectations of our uniform here at Prescott Primary Northern. There are a few items creeping in that are not uniform and this is a friendly reminder to correct the uniform for Term 3. We will be referring to the 2020 PPN Uniform Policy in this link - CLICK HERE! which is available on our website.

Shoes (page 3) - There are a lot of shoes that are incorrect at school at the moment. Shoes should laced, buckled or velcro, polished, black leather, low-heeled regulation school shoes. There are a lot of sneaker type, black shoes that are coming to school. These are incorrect. Please check your child's shoes and make sure they are correct before Term 3 begins.

Boys winter pants (page 2) - Boys pants should be School grey school trousers (Long cotton cargo pants are not permitted). The correct pants are available at the PPN Uniform Shop.

Hair cuts and Earrings (pages 4-5) - We are seeing a lot of hair cuts are going against the uniform policy. Boys must not have lines between the short and long parts and no lines cut into the hair. It is very embarrassing for your children when we speak to them as they know the expectation, yet the hair gets cut anyway. Please avoid any uncomfortable phone calls by ensuring the hair is cut correctly. Please read and see the pictures in the uniform policy

Winter jackets (page 2) - A lot of students are coming in non-school winter jackets. We have a thick winter jacket available at the uniform shop. It must be the Navy school rain jacket with emblem (optional). Other jackets are not permitted unless a note is provided as to when you will be purchasing a school one.

These are the main areas we are asking for your help in. As always, you can send an SMS to the PPN school number or write a note regarding your child's uniform, requesting a uniform pass for the incorrect uniform. We are understanding and realise this year has been abnormal, however, there comes a time where we need to ensure our uniform policy is respected.

Thank you for help and understanding with these uniform requests.
