Principal's Remarks

Principal_Remarks_Tamara_Title.png

Have you ever trained for a race? Or perhaps you have participated or competed in a race, with or without the preparation? There are so many aspects to a race, each with a different level of enjoyment. The excitement that builds up pre-race, the pure enjoyment, commitment and adrenalin during and continuing after the race, the determination and endurance to finish the race, then finally the celebration and feeling of success for completing the race.

The school year often feels like a race. It begins with great anticipation about what may unfold as the days and weeks go by. The enjoyment in the everyday activities and events that happen throughout the year, and the rejoicing in the small successes or milestones throughout the terms, cheer us on to finish the race and finish it well.

Great moments, such as: our little ones singing their hearts out for their special people, parents and grandparents in the Christmas concert this week; celebrating our staff with a catered staff lunch to remind them of the wonderful job they are doing; sending our senior students - our graduating classes of Year 6 and 7 off to their graduation camp, are all great moments that spur us on in this busy season, in this last leg of the race.

Usain Bolt, a champion athlete, once said "There are better starters than me but I'm a strong finisher." Isn't that what we want for our students, our staff and our families? To summon the immense amount of endurance that is needed to finish this year well and be able to reflect upon 2019 and celebrate the journey together.

Paul writes an encouragement in the book of 2 Timothy, to fight the good fight, finish the race and keep the faith. So Prescott family, as we look towards the finishing line of our school year, let's encourage one another along to finish well and celebrate the moments of success, learning and growth together.

Happy racing towards the finish line!

Blessings,

Tamara
