Adventist Schools Australia Spelling Competition at PPN

Over the past week, we have run heats for a fun little spelling competition here at PPN. Some Years 3-7 students were invited to spell challenging words, where the top spelling students from each class went through to the finals. Students were able to use lifeline cards, where they could have a 2^nd Chance, Find Three letters in a Row, be told a Letter Count or simply Pass the word. Each lifeline card had a point value where accumulating points was bad, however, if it kept you in the game, students were encouraged to use them! Well done to Jeslet J in Yr 4 who won the junior competition. Sean B, also from Yr 4, valiantly spelled his way to 2^nd place. A huge congratulations to Giovanna from Yr 3 who came 3^rd. A big congratulations to all who participated. This was a trial for 2019 and we are looking to expand it in 2020. Year 5-7 finals will be held tomorrow (Thursday). Thank you to all the students who came and watched and teachers that helped.
