State Chess Tournament
On Monday, ten students from our Chess club, travelled to Tyndale Christian School to participate in the State chess tournament. Over 100 students from 13 different schools participated in this event. There are five zones in SA, and teams qualified for the State tournament if they had first won in their zone during an Interschool Tournament earlier in the year.
After a grueling day of playing nine games of chess each, Prescott came in at a very respectable 4th place! Only missing third place by one point! An amazing effort for this talented group of students. Congratulations to Burnside Primary school that came in first place. Special congratulations to Dylan who was our best player for the day and finished in 4th place on the individual standings. Well done, team.
Chess Club will begin again in 2020, in Week 3 of Term 1. As we say farewell to our wonderful Year 6 and 7 players, we are looking forward to welcoming some new members next year.
