Interschool Chess Champs

We congratulate the Chess Team in coming first in this term’s Interschool Chess Tournament for the North Eastern Zone! A special congratulations to Anthony Harder and Nate Morgan for finishing in a tie for best player of the day and first place out of all players. Anthony narrowly defeated Nate for the trophy on a count back of opponent defeats. Dylan Tran was also the youngest player at the tournament in Year 2, however, managed to scoop a first place medal! I will now be selecting 8 of our best players to travel to the State Finals next term. Well done to everybody on a great team effort and wonderful sportsmanship.

Foundation Go Swimming

This week our three Foundation classes are learning to swim.  The ability to swim is very important and each year these students will build on the skills learnt this week.  Each class has enjoyed going on the bus to the State Swim pool at Clovercrest to practice placing their faces underwater while blowing bubbles, kicking their legs to propel them through the water and gaining confidence in the water.   A highlight has been floating in the pool, using noodles.  Everyone has been excited about swimming lessons and are enjoyed their time at the pool.
