School Highlights
Year 5 Adelaide Zoo Excursion
On Friday the 30th of August, both Year 5 classes spent the day at the Adelaide Zoo investigating ways that animals have been created to suit their habitat. The weather was wonderful and the students enjoyed looking at all the different animals who were also enjoying the sunshine. After lunch, we attended a bird show where we saw the Black Cockatoo and a Macaw up close as they flew over our heads as we sat on the grass near the rotunda.

Year 1 Adelaide City Fire Station Excursion
Last Friday, as part of our ‘Taking Care of Me’ unit in Health, 1C went for a tour of the Adelaide City MFS Station. We were reminded of what to do in a fire and got to practice how to ‘Stop, Cover, Drop and Roll’ and ‘Get down low and Go Go Go!’.
Some of the highlights of the tour were getting to squirt the fire hose, climbing in the back of the fire truck and seeing the fire fighters slide down the pole. We were even lucky enough to see a fire truck heading out to a real fire!
1B and 1A are looking forward to their tours in the next couple of weeks.
