Principal's Remarks

Can we do this every week?

There are some experiences in life that leave you yearning for more of the same experience to get deeper engaged in whatever you are doing.  Last week, we had our Week Of Worship (WOW—as we call it).  This was a time of regular meetings to play Bible games, sing songs and listen to Pastor Matt Hunter explore the idea of Jesus as the Rock on which we build.  At the end of the week, on Friday night, some students and families attended the final worship service.  Following this, one of the students who had been assisting with the programs as a junior chaplain chatting with me commented that it was so lovely and could we do daily worships every week at school in the same manner that WOW had run.

Some things leave lasting positive impressions on our lives.  I am certain that for this student and a few others, the effects of WOW will continue for the rest of their lives.  I wonder what experiences you engage yourself in have long lasting positive effects on your life; experiences that you can reflect on for inspiration and encouragement even in tough moments in life and be encouraged to carry on doing your best with whatever lies before you.

As we work together in the third week of this term, let us build on the highlights of the time that has gone past.  In this third week of the Term 2, make some time to reflect on things that have made you exclaim, wow!! Capture those moments as reference points to the foundation on which you build your life and do not forget God’s goodness towards you.
