National Simultaneous Storytime
Welcome to Term 2! This term in the library we are looking forward to taking part in National Simultaneous Storytime. This is an annual event across Australia that is in its 25th year! At the same time on May 21 children in schools, libraries, childcare centres, preschools and homes across Australia will all read the same book at the same time. This year the book is ‘The Truck Cat’ written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by South Australian Danny Snell.
National Simultaneous Storytime is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children’s book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum.
Scholastic Book Club
Issue 3 of Scholastic Book Club will be coming home with your child soon! Book Club is a great opportunity to purchase your child some fantastic books and support the PPN library at the same time.
