Science Nature Play
With a focus on science and creative minds, our upper primary students engaged in a lunchtime nature play with the challenge to… “create a pipeline that will transport water from beginning to end, showing the directional flow between the pipes, finishing in the catchment area!” Here are our scientists at play…
Teams worked together to discover angles, solve attachment problems, and include as many pipes in their design. And just when the science thinking worked, their artistic brains decided to mix primary coloured water to create secondary coloured catchments!
Observing our students in such a playful and creative activity is encouraging and gives them new experiences from which their bodies grow and thrive. What challenges could you present to your child this week?
Here’s one for thought…
Using one hand and one hand only, wring out a wet dish cloth, go outside and hang it on the clothesline with a peg, then when it’s dry, bring it in off the line, fold it and put it away for another day.
