Fun Run 2024

Last Friday was crazy. Hair-raising even!

Last week ended with our always fun Fun Run, with a special hairy twist this year. Not only was it Crazy Hair themed, but three students and one staff member cut and donated their hair to help people affected by cancer.

Plus, between canteen sales and the gold coin donations we raised almost $550. Thank you for your support. It was great to see so many parents join us on a heat-filled day!

Yr 5 Stem

As part of their STEM unit the Year 5 students designed and created their own Luna Module for a mission into space. Their module was required to survive a 4 meter drop, keeping the 'astronauts' (eggs) safe.

Year 3C Design and Tech

Year 3C had such fun during their Design and Tech lesson. In groups, the students had to design an outfit with newspaper and only 30cm of sticky tape.  This was challenging however; the students took it on and did so well.

Hapa-zome Nature Play

Even though it was a scorcher this week at school, it didn't deter the nature play enthusiasts.
Have you ever seen the Japanese artform of Hapa-zome? It’s a beautiful print making skill that uses natural items and a rubber mallet to transfer the colours from the plants onto a piece of material. The keen students had another chance to try their skills of Hapa-zome making this week. Using some pre cut triangles of calico and a rubber mallet and a beautiful selection of leaves and flowers for the students to choose from. Some with orange, yellow, pink, purple and green etc. They laid out their design on a board then they put a piece of material on the design, then using the rubber mallet, hammered the material into the natural pieces to print the colour onto the fabric. The students were amazed at the beautiful colours and patterns that were left and enjoyed the process of hammering the board to find the print. When they have dried, see if you can find the collection of bunting created by our students hung around the Nature Playground Space.
