Pyjama Day
WOW! Who doesn’t love wearing their pyjamas and enjoying a nice hot chocolate on a cool day? The staff and students at PPN had a fantastic day raising funds for ADRA. Thank you to everyone who donated. It’s heartwarming to see our school come together to help those in need.
As the Bible says, “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” (Hebrews 13:16). Your generosity and kindness truly reflect this spirit.
Let’s continue to support each other and make a difference in our community. Together, we can achieve great things!
Year 6 Wins Big with the Garden Grant!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Year 6 has won the Garden Grant from Bakers Delight and Life Ed! Out of more than 1,000 entries across the country, our school was selected as 1 of just 25 winners nationwide based on the proposal we put forward as a school—how awesome is that?
We’ve been working really hard on our write-up about our garden (hours in fact!), putting in all our green thumbs and creative ideas, and it’s paid off! We’ve won $1,000 to put towards our veggie patch, and we can’t wait to keep improving that area with our produce. This grant is a huge win for our school; we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved together.
And here’s a little fun fact: A special metal garden plaque is on its way to our school, so everyone will know that our veggie patch is officially award-winning!
Stay tuned for updates as we dig in and make our garden even more amazing. Thank you for all your support and enthusiasm—this win belongs to all of us!
Buddy Classes Exploring God’s Wonderful World!
This week, 2B had an amazing time working with their buddies in 6B! The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and a bit of glitter (okay, maybe a lot of glitter!). Together, we got creative, using coloured pastels to bring out the beautiful colours God created in our world.
As we blended the pastels, creating colourful porcupines, we couldn’t help but marvel at how vibrant and full of life our world is. The colours reminded us of how God’s creativity is everywhere we look—just like in each one of us.
We also shared a special Bible verse that helps us remember how unique and wonderful we all are.
Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Just like porcupines have their special quills to protect them, each of us has something special that God has given us. We are all wonderfully made, with our own unique qualities!
Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces as we worked together was a reminder of how blessed we are to have each other and to share in God’s amazing creation. We can't wait for our next buddy class adventure!
Nature Play
This week at Prescott, the sand and water play area got a little refresh with some new items to use in the sand pit.
Unfortunately some of the items have not been treated correctly with alot of pieces broken or damaged. The sandpit is a very popular choice for many students who use really creative and cooperative ideas in their play. With some creating cakes, soups and other delicious meals while others love building damns, rivers, sand cities and ramps using the bamboo pipes.
The sandpit was a hive of activity this week, with many students drawn to the fresh items they could use to create and play. It was a joy to watch a big group of students work together to build a damn and then open it up for others to fill up the river they had built.
How will you play with sand or water at your house this week?
Nature Maths
This week at PPN the Year 2's joined us in the Nature Play Space for nature maths. They worked in a group to figure out how to break up a whole number into two parts. They did this by using collected pieces of paper that were scrunched into balls and aiming into a bucket. Once they had thrown all of their paper balls, they added up how many were outside and how many inside to reach the whole number.
Students were then challenged to write a matching number sentence to represent the numbers on the part part whole page. Students loved rotating through different positions to have a turn at writing throwing and encouraging their team mates. They had alot of fun learning in nature.
