Principal's Remarks
I once had this really bright idea to buy a wooden boat that was being used as a stage prop at an event I was involved in running. I thought I might be able to use it on a beach holiday we had coming up soon after. We got to the beach and I launched the boat, bucket and silicon gun in hand. It was really hard to bucket water out fast enough to keep it afloat. No matter how much I bucketed it out, water came in faster. This time of the year can feel a bit like that. So many things need to happen, and you feel like you are giving as much as you can and things still come coming. I mentioned I armed myself with a bucket and a silicon gun as I hopped into that old
boat. I got out that silicon gun very quickly and began to squeeze some into the cracks where the water was appearing from, and, would you believe it, the flow began to slow. It didn’t stop completely, but it made it manageable, and also made for some great summer beach memories. Over the last few days, I have witnessed lots of people, children and adults, sharing gifts, thoughts, help and resources and it reminded me of the silicon in that old boat. It doesn’t always take much to make a huge difference in the life of someone else. The little things that people were doing for each other just lifted them. It was actually really inspiring to witness.
That is the message I would like to leave with our Year 6s and 7s who are graduating from Primary school this week. Look for the opportunities to be the hands, feet and mouth of Jesus and let God’s love and grace shine through you. We wish each one of you God’s riches blessings.
We are also saying farewell to several staff members, as well as students in other Year Levels and I want to say thank you for all of the contributions you have made to our school community over the time you have been here. To have the care, love and support of a school family is a very precious thing.
Thank you to all of our school community for another amazing year at Prescott Primary Northern. We have witnessed God’s amazing grace and blessings in so many ways, not the least being in the “little things” people have done so unselfishly for others.
Have a safe, blessed and relaxing break with your kids and we look forward to what incredible things God has for Prescott Primary Northern,
Mark B
