Student Guidelines for at-home learning

Please read!

Hi students,
We wanted to share with you some guidelines regarding your learning at home tomorrow. We will send the info to your parents too.

Student Guidelines

We must ensure student privacy and security and do our very best to keep students engaged and learning.
a. Students need to join while located in a quiet shared space, away from siblings or other distractions.
b. Students must not be joining from their bedroom.
c. Ideal location is a dining room with a blank wall background.
d. Any location must be easily accessible to parents.
e. Students to be wearing appropriate and comfortable clothing.
f. Students will respect others' rights to learn by not disrupting the session.
g. Students will not post inappropriate images, text or other content in the chat.
h. Students will not share images, video or text for a live-stream or video to others outside the class.
i. Students will keep their mic on mute unless they are contributing to the discussion or asking a question.
j. Students need to be reminded that all content they post or provide in Teams can be viewed by teachers.
k. Only teachers are to begin Class Video Meetings.
l. Online learning in our school context is part of the Prescott Primary Northern school experience and so we would expect students to act in accordance with the values and principles we uphold.

When online, we also expect students, families and teachers to abide by the Use of Technology Agreement and Codes of Conduct we have, for when we are at school.

IT Agreement

If I am unsure whether I am allowed to do something involving ICT, I will ask the teacher first.

-If I have my own username, I will log on only with that user name. I will not allow anyone else to use my username.

-I will use my school email address for school related business.

-I will keep my password private.

-I will use the Internet, e-mail, mobile phones or any ICT equipment only for positive purposes, not to be mean, rude or offensive, to bully or harass, or in any other way that may harm anyone else or the school itself, even if it is meant as a joke.

-If I do not follow cyber-safety practices, the school may inform my parents/caregivers. In serious cases, the school may take disciplinary action against me. My family may be charged for repair costs. If illegal material or activities are involved or e-crime is suspected, it may be necessary for the school to inform the police and securely hold personal items for potential examination by police. Such actions may occur even if the incident occurs off-site and/or out of school hours.
Thanks! PPN Leadership

At-Home Learning Video

If you would like to be included in a video in next week’s newsletter for our At-Home Learning experience, please email a photo of your child participating in their at-home learning to tamarabernoth@ppn.sa.edu.au by Monday afternoon and we will include it in a special video. We look forward to seeing you all learning at home during this lockdown!
